Title: NSDL/NSTA Year 3 Web Seminar 6: Engineering-Because Dreams Need Doing
Url: http://learningcenter.nsta.org/products/symposia_seminars/NSDL3/webseminar6.aspx

Description:

For seminar 6 (February 19, 2009), NSDL featured our experts Dr. Mike Mooney, Assistant Professor at the Colorado School of Mines and Mindy Zarske, K-12 Engineering Coordinator for the University of Colorado at Boulder's Integrated Teaching and Learning (ITL) Program.

Engineers work on solving problems and needs that can be readily found in our daily lives. Teaching students about engineering careers and incorporating engineering activities that demonstrate the design process can inspire students to pursue engineering careers as well as provide a means of incorporating inquiry and problem-based learning into your teaching. Our presenters provided an overview on engineering and resources teachers can use from Teach Engineering.

The National Science Teachers Association and NSDL present a monthly series of web seminars for the 2008-2009 school year for teacher professional development that showcase NSDL experts and resources.
